Farm-fresh eggs are the first ingredient here!

Until meeting Brian, I didn't think there was a 'right way' to make hard boiled eggs.. however his culinary school would disagree!

  • Stove

  • Pot

  • 4 eggs

  • Water

  • In a saucepan, place 4 eggs and fill it with water.

  • Turn to high heat and bring to a boil.

  • Reduce heat to simmer.

  • After 5 minutes, turn off heat and leave the eggs in the pan until it cools down.

  • Once eggs have cooled to a handling temperature, place the entire pot under cool running water and then drain.

  • Do this a couple times to ensure the eggs are not too hot. (Alternatively let the eggs cool for 15 minutes.)

  • Remove the shell.

All done and ready to eat!

Looking for a quick and portable snack?

  • I love to bring hard-boiled eggs to work with some pita, leftover rice or in a salad. In the winter I will bring soup.

  • After removing the shell I like to add sea salt and fresh ground pepper, paprika and maybe a drizzle of some hot sauce and lime.

  • By adding oil and an acid like citrus or unpasteurized apple cider vinegar you can mash up hard boiled eggs into a tasty mayo-less egg salad. Chop up a few pickles and bob's your uncle! A tasty and healthy trans-fat free protein packed portable snack.
