IMMUNE BOOST
Here we have our favourite immune supporting organic plants grown in the NIH garden and foraged in the wild of Ontario.
Ingredient Highlights:
- Organic rosemary for circulation support, to reduce general inflammation and as a natural antiseptic. Rosemary comes in handy for the common cold, digestive upset, headaches, and aches/pains.
- NIH grown oregano is a natural anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and anti-viral.
- Thyme is a natural antiseptic, antifungal and expectorant. It is beneficial for digesitve and respiratory complaints, as well as topical applications.
- NIH grown feverfew flower as a general tonic for overall wellness, digestive support and treatment of fevers, chills, and headaches.
- NIH grown mints for delicious flavour and hydration, as mints are known to be a source of electrolytes.
- NIH grown dandelion leaf and flower for urinary support, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
- Japanese sencha green tea for a boost of energy, flavour and antioxidants.
- Wildcrafted chaga mushroom is an overall body nourisher. Chaga and other medicinal mushrooms are researched for their cancer suppressing antioxidants.
- Organic rosehips are a source of bioflavenoids and vitamins, including vitamin C.
- NIH grown sage is an astringent and antispasmodic, and it is used to dry up secretion of fluids- such as mucus, and early stages of cold and flu.
- Stevia leaf for a touch of sweetnesss.
Flavour- earthy and crisp. Try flavouring with honey or a slice of lemon for a sore throat.

A useful tea to have in your first aid cupboard. This blend can be brewed for tea, or simmered on the stove, as the steam will soothe clogged airways (please see directions on the right).
In herbal medicine 'anticatarrhals' are plants known to eliminate and counteract the formation of mucus. To help move that buildup, 'expectorants' will assist to expel mucus from the lungs and throat.
Ingredient Highlights:
- Eucalyptus leaf is a natural antiseptic, thus inhaling and drinking tea when congested with sickness, helps to remove buildup and combat illness. Eucalyptus is widely known to be beneficial for respiratory complaints.
- Great mullein is used for cough, lung and bronchial congestion, irritated throat and even ear aches. Mullein is an expectorant and demulcent, meaning it soothes and coats irritated membranes, while helping to remove the blockage.
- Echinacea is used for acute inflammatory conditions, both internal imbalance, and wounds, bites, eruptions and boils. Echinacea is researched for both its antibacterial and antiviral abilities.
- Rosehip, the fruit of the rose plant, is often included in skincare and immune boosting blends due to vitamin C and antioxidant content.
- Ginger root is a herbal stimulant, meaning it boosts the ability of other herbs taken with it due to its beneficial action to our digestive system and circulation.
Flavour- neutral with a background zip.

How to Use:
Use with a mesh strainer, compostable tea sachet, or tea press.
Boil water and allow for it settle. Place loose tea into vesicle and cover with boiled water. Allow for it to steep 2-5 minutes with a lid to trap the essential oils. Strain and enjoy!
